Another unique point of interest along Topsail Island is the former missile tracking towers that stand along the island. They are remnants from a post WWII Naval project known as Operation Bumblebee. The ghostly white 2-story cement structures stand like sentries and at least one has been converted into a spectacular contemporary beach house!
