Homes for Sale in The Cape & Neighborhood Information

Remember back when folks knew their neighbors, watched one another’s kids grow up and were there for each other in times of need? Residents of The Cape still know what that’s like!

As one of Wilmington’s oldest golf course communities, The Cape is regarded as one of the area’s most convenient and scenic neighborhoods. It is located along the southern tip of the city, which places it just one mile from the Snow’s Cut Bridge and close to the coastal communities of Carolina and Kure Beach along with Fort Fisher, the N.C. Aquarium and the Southport ferry landing. The Cape is situated just off 132-South or Carolina Beach Road, which becomes South College when you proceed northward. This makes commuting or traveling around town a snap. Another plus is that the Port City’s historic downtown is a mere 14 miles away!

The Cape Golf Course Information

The Cape was developed in 1985 around its challenging championship golf course. Today an extensive renovation has transformed the facility and it has a new name: The Masonboro Country Club. Residents here are excited about the beautiful new course, which features elevation transitions, mini-verde Bermuda greens, 80 acres of newly sodded turf, and a 7-acre driving range.

Of course not everyone’s a golfer, which is just fine because this family-friendly neighborhood has so much more to offer! In addition to a very active HOA, the Cape has a dedicated social committee and residents enjoy a full schedule of activities throughout the year. There are frequent get-togethers and hands-on opportunities such as the Fall Fest, potlucks, block parties, and beautification projects.

Unlike many of today’s newer developments, The Cape boasts large stands of well-established native shrubs, majestic oaks, pines, and dogwood trees. In the spring it is really something special when all of the flowering bulbs and azaleas are in full bloom! Lovely wide streets meander through The Cape’s seven miles of beautifully landscaped acreage. Fortunately, there are a variety of home sizes and architectural styles, and prices to suit almost every taste and budget. Homes here are a variety of traditional styles and many are brick. There are also townhomes and even a few lots available for those for are interested in new construction.
